Living an Unoffendable Life

One of the best ways to live our lives is to live unoffended.

We cannot completely escape circumstances and situations that are offensive in nature. No matter where we go, no matter what we do, no matter how we behave, we are sooner or later going to encounter a situation, or many of them, that are disrespectful, offensive, hurtful, insulting, rude, irritating or discourteous. It could be from a taxi driver, our boss, our employee, our neighbor or even from our loved ones.

Of course many times we need to defend ourselves when they happen, react to them, try to stop them or get away from them, especially if there is the possibility of physical harm or if a situation is repetitive and abusive.

But many times, if we are well centered in ourselves, with enough presence, we can, as it says in the Bible, overlook an offense.*
What this means is that we can decide to live an unoffendable life
We can chose to give up our ‘right’ to be offended, if we really want to.
With wisdom and presence, this is truly possible! Never to be a ‘doormat’ (a submissive person), but at all times to be centered in our hearts, in our wisdom, in our beauty.

Then, even if an offense comes, I am not obligated to react to it, or even to be affected by it (and even if I do, to give it up as soon as possible).
It is so great, so freeing, so amazing to live an unoffendable life!

‘A man’s wisdom gives him patience, it is to his glory to overlook an offense.’
Proverbs 19:11
