Sanskrit name: Uttihita Chaturanga Dandasana

The yoga pose where one presses his palms against the ground to raise one’s body as high as possible.

This pose is part of the Sun Salutation succession.

Recommendations and precautions:

  • Not recommended in the case of CTS or during pregnancy.

Physical benefits:

  • Strengthens the arms, abdomen, joints and feet.
  • Prepares the body for exercises which require balancing the body in one’s hands.

This pose is demanding and solicits the entire body. Seek to regain the present moment and enjoy it, however.
